This house already had personality. One of the homeowners was an avid woodworker, and the board and batten detailing he had added throughout the home was exactly the kind of character worth building on rather than erasing. The renovation focused on the kitchen, kids bath, powder bath, and flooring, and the whole approach was rooted in that same sensibility: honor what's there, and bring it fully into focus.
The kitchen had a great footprint that just needed to be elevated. Custom creamy white cabinetry runs the perimeter, paired with quartz countertops that can take daily use without showing it. The refrigerator wall was built out as a white oak hutch with glass-front upper cabinets, and it reads almost like a piece of furniture dropped into the space. A new window above the sink was added where there wasn't one before, and it changed the entire feel of that end of the kitchen. Above the island, a pair of ribbed glass pendants with brass fittings bring warmth without competing with anything. The charcoal zellige backsplash and black range with brass hardware give the space its edge without pushing it too far.
The kids bath was a full tear-out and rebuild, same layout, completely reimagined. The floor is the standout: a striped pattern in a soft neutral that gives the room real character without making it feel juvenile. The sage green vanity and beadboard walls tie back to the tones already running through the house. The result is a bathroom that feels current and fun without shouting that it belongs to kids. It will grow with them.
